AI is rapidly changing the future of Climate Tech – from smarter forecasts and grid optimization to emissions tracking and adaptive agriculture. Globally, it’s already embedded in Next-gen Climate Tech. But for early-stage startups in India, turning powerful PoCs into scalable AI-first climate solutions is still a tough climb. From messy data to missing infra, the gap is big! That’s why we’re here to back AI-first Climate Tech startups.

FAQs

Early-stage startups building AI-enabled solutions for climate-relevant sectors. You must have at least a proof of concept (PoC), a defined problem statement, and a committed core team.
No, you do not need to be based in India to apply. The program is open to startups from anywhere in the world, but sessions and activities will follow Indian Standard Time (IST) & your solution must also be relevant to the Indian market.
An AI-first startup is one where Artificial Intelligence is central to the solution—either as the core product, or as an enabler that adds significant value (e.g., prediction, automation, optimization, decision support etc).
It refers to the use of Artificial Intelligence to solve climate-related challenges—such as optimizing renewable energy, predicting extreme weather, reducing emissions, improving resource use, or enabling better climate resilience and adaptation and more.
You should be at the Proof of Concept (PoC) or early Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage, with clarity on the climate problem you are addressing and how AI plays a role in your solution.

Yes, solo founders can apply, provided you are committed to the climate challenge you are addressing and have the necessary resources to bring your solution to life.
You’ll receive continued visibility and engagement through Climate Collective’s broader ecosystem — including pilots, investor connects, follow-on programs, and peer communities & networking.
The core accelerator will run from October 2025 to February 2026, followed by a Demo Day in February 2026.
We evaluate applications based on:
  • Strength of the team
  • Clarity of the climate problem and proposed solution
  • AI integration and technical potential
  • Relevance to the Indian context
The program requires a commitment of 3–5 hours per week during the core acceleration period. Most sessions are virtual and scheduled in advance.
A select number of startups will have the opportunity to pitch to potential investors and funders during Demo Day.
The program is delivered virtually, with live interactive sessions, office hours, and asynchronous content. Some optional in-person touchpoints may also be organized.
Yes. You can apply as long as you have a committed team and a working concept. However, startups that are already registered will have an added advantage during the selection process.
Yes. We will guide startups in identifying and accessing relevant public or partner datasets in select climate-related domains, and provide basic technical direction on using them within AI models.
These are sectors where climate innovation is critical. Our focus areas include: Agriculture, Energy, Mobility, Water, Waste, Risk/Adaptation, Air Quality, Circular Economy & more.
You don’t need a fully developed product, but a clear proof of concept or early MVP is required. Your idea should be technically viable and implementable.
You’ll engage with experienced professionals from: AI/ML product development, Sectoral experts (agriculture, energy, mobility, etc.), Climate impact measurement experts, Funders, policymakers, and startup mentors.
